KING ME - 250 years of Donald Trump

Dutch-American comedian Greg Shapiro presents a Tryout for his 9th solo show. In 2026, the USA celebrates 250 years of independence – by bringing back the King. With Donald Trump in power, it feels like it’s been 250 years. ‘What a perfect time for another American Revolution,’ says Shapiro.

Greg Shapiro is one of the originals at Boom Chicago theatre in Amsterdam. He has hosted Comedy Central News, and yes, he is known as the voice of Trump in the ‘Netherlands Second’ viral video with over 50 million views.

In 2024, Leaving Trumpland 2.0 got 4 stars from De Volkskrant.DE VOLKSKRANT ‘Lively... emotional... tightly constructed performance’

THEATERKRANT ‘Flawless impersonator… Extraordinarily funny… Shapiro responded (…) like a master improviser…Sharp satire of Trump’s America’ARTS TALK MAGAZINE ‘A very sharp and dangerous edge’

Fedor Ikelaar: NO DIE! – Or: How I Left Amsterdam and Almost Died in Africa

After performing in nearly 50 countries, Amsterdam comedian Fedor Ikelaar returns with the true story that almost ended it all.

What starts as a naive volunteer trip to Sierra Leone spirals into motorbike chaos in Thailand, a serious car crash, a police officer pointing a gun at the wrong person, cultural misunderstandings, and a series of increasingly questionable decisions.

Blending sharp stand-up comedy with vivid storytelling, No Die! is a darkly funny tale spanning five continents. It’s a show about travel, risk, blind confidence, near-death experiences, and the surprising kindness of strangers.

★★★★★ “Worldly, sharp, and endlessly funny—Fedor spins insane stories from around the globe with impeccable timing.” — AYTC Review

“Hilarious, high-energy, and full of surprises—Fedor takes you on a wild ride through his travel misadventures.” — Winnipeg Fringe Audience Review

"His Sierra Leone story combined humour with some truly scary moments." — UMFM

"Hilarious! Great storytelling and comedy. A must-see!" — Winnipeg Fringe Patron Review

This summer, No Die! tours four Canadian Fringe Festivals. Before it heads overseas, this is your chance to catch the latest version of the show in Amsterdam.

And if the Netherlands happens to be playing at the World Cup that evening, De Prael is a great place to watch the match beforehand and then stay for the show.

Meet your host:

MC Kendra was born into a Reagan-era hunter-gatherer society in Alaska, and started playing saxophone at age 8 inspired by the musical stylings of Lisa Simpson. After surviving the treacherous journey down the infamous Alaskan-Canadian hi-way she studied Music at the University of Oregon finally leaving the US in 2004 in search of a better life (and an affordable Master’s degree). She bought a one-way ticket to Amsterdam, never looked back and has been entertaining folks in Amsterdam ever since.
