Presented by Rewire, iii, and Journey Through the Senses

Skin Hunger is an immersive, interdisciplinary performance by movement artist Mireia Varón Gallofré, in collaboration with writer and poet Puck Füsers and artist Myra-Ida van der Veen. Blending dance, poetry, and sound, it traces the absence of touch and the echoes of skin memory. Rooted in research and accessibility since its inception, the work invites all audiences, with special attention to blind and partially sighted people, into a tender world beyond sight. In the performance, scent becomes costume, sound becomes movement, warmth becomes distance, and language triggers imagination. What happens when touch is longed for, imagined, or remembered? Skin Hunger invites audiences to listen with their bodies, feel with their ears, and sense the presence of others through absence. Varón Gallofré is a movement artist who explores dance through research, accessibility, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Since graduating from the Dance Artist programme at ArtEZ in 2023, Mireia has integrated accessibility into the core of the artistic process, particularly focusing on dance experiences for blind people.
