4th NSC-R Data Carpentry Workshop
Using R for Reproducible Social Science
On November 3 (Tue), 4 (Wed), 10 (Tue), and 11 (Wed), the NSC-R Team is organizing a four-half day workshop on the statistical software R: "NSC-R Data Carpentry Workshop". The aim is to help participants transform from R novices into R users, and in doing so to stimulate them to create reproducible workflows. No prior knowledge of or experience with R is assumed, so the workshop is suitable for beginners.
The workshop will be at the VU Campus in Amsterdam, Initium Building, NSCR (3rd floor), Colloquium Room, from 10:00 to 15:00. It will be hands-on, and participants are expected to bring their own laptops so they can immediately rehearse what they learn and do exercises. NSCR provides coffee, tea and refreshments. Participants can bring their own lunch or buy one on the VU Campus during the lunch breaks.
This workshop is limited to 20 participants. Members of 'PhDs in Criminology' and affiliates of NSCR, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and Lectorate CCCS of THUAS will be given priority, in order of registration. If seats are still available, they will be open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis until full capacity is reached.
Participants will receive a certificate of attendance as well as 1.5 ECs (European Credits) upon successful completion of the course.
Please note: bachelor or master students are not eligible for this workshop.
