Practising a craft is under pressure. Not only in the Netherlands, but throughout Europe. What could a craftsperson 2.0 look like?

By combining age-old traditions with modern technology, there can be a sensory and intuitive creative interaction between the craftsperson and the digitally controlled machine. This is in contrast to the typical perception of using a machine: you enter a design, press a button and wait. There is no sense of craftsmanship in that; it is mechanical.  This Waag Open event, you can experience for yourself how, as the user of a machine, you can still be in touch with the craft process: prepare to hack existing tools like markers, brushes, stamps for a whole new making process with a traditional touch!Programme More information will follow soon.Waag Open Waag Open is the monthly public programme focused on today's themes. We organise various workshops and present collaborations between scientists, designers and artists. Once a month, Waag opens her doors for programmes that can be attended by anyone and everyone.
