Why Chartres? The power of place

Chartres was the most important ritual and sacred location in Celtic Gaul. The center of attention was a large, earth-covered dolmen and passage mound which originally stood where the apse of the cathedral now rises, erected during Neolithic (around 4000 BC).

It was sacred to the Carnutes, a powerful Gaulish tribe, who had a Druid grotto dedicated to a pre-Christian virgin who they believed would conceive and bear a son. There is also a sacred well, the Well of the Strong, which can still be seen in the crypt.

The location is enhanced by the powerful telluric energies flowing through streams and converging beneath this Cathedral. These currents create a light electromagnetic charge which influences the visitor.

Who are we?

Mysteries of Chartres, Tours and Retreats, is a part of MythMe, a novel and unique boutique agency specialising in ancient mystery tours, retreats and coaching for personal-, organisational growth and development through experience of ancient mysteries. We use ancient wisdom tools and powerful locations to support people and teams in finding their purpose, taking the path of their mission and travelling to their destination in order to provide the world with their gifts. The tools we use from ancient wisdom schools include sacred geometry, ritual, mindfulness, labyrinth walking, myth and metaphor. Founder Renée Schnitzler has been working with these tools personally for over 30 years. She joins together with other experts in geometry, astrology, ritual and heart based healing.

Renée’s lifelong passion is the study of and encounter with the mysteries and lost wisdom of ancient civilisations and power places worldwide with a special fascination for Indo-European prehistory. Renée has a parallel career as professional in business communications.

Patricia is a trained Transpersonal and Heart’s Resonance Coach, and has been working with individuals and groups in transformational processes for the past six years. She facilitates practices that help you find a deeper connection with your true, natural being in order to achieve alignment between the energies of the head, heart, and hands, and to access your highest potentials. Patricia employs various meditation practices (Buddhistic, Joe Dispenza), heart resonance, rituals, “A Course in Miracles,” the SOURCE process, 5Rhythms dancing, visualizations, stillness, and gratitude practices.
