About this event

  • 8 hours

Iedereen vanaf 2 jaar is welkom!

Or read more about our work with street children

Mombasa, Kenya's second largest city is a haven for street children because of the ravages of Poverty,HIV/AIDS, tribal wars etc.Orphans and homeless children flock Mombasa to beg, steal, sell sex. They come expecting a break through out of their problems only to end up in the worse conditions while living on the streets.

Constantly drunk from using a solution of glue and gasoline from discarded water bottles and being chased by police, their life is in dark shades. They are popularly known as "Chokora", meaning Gabbage people. Their families have abandoned or failed to care for them because their is not enough for everyone at home, some children were born on the streets.

Wana wa mola mission has come in to rescue, mentor , and resettle these children especially boys. We are passionate about offering holistic care, refuge and rehabilitation to street children. We provide Education to develop them mentally, Character development to train them socially, enough balanced diet and healthcare to build them Physically, discipline to be spiritually fit .Our program is mentor based , aimed at identifying their talents and capabilities that we capitalize our training on to give them an alternative that they can survive on once reintegrated back into the normal society. We have been in operation since 2010 . A part from our presence as parents to all street children on the streets of Mombasa, at least 57 children have been admitted and have benefitted directly from the home and have now become carpenters, electricians, plumbers, while 25 of them are still continuing with school and mentorship in the home today.
