Overview

This is a 90 minute hands on origami workshop where you will be taught to make three models and also be introduced to mindfulness. AOC@OBA

👋 Welcome to the Amsterdam Origami Club

A monthly creative meetup where beginners and experienced folders come together to learn, relax and create beautiful paper art.
Each month features a new themed origami workshop, taught step‑by‑step by Samuel Tsang, author of The Book of Mindful Origami and The Magic of Mindful Origami.

This workshop is proudly supported by the OBA to encourage more community arts activities.
Attendance is voluntary donation based.
If you’re able, please donate to help cover:

🎨 Monthly Themes (Subject to change if I discover a fun new model!)

  • January — Animals: birds, fish, cats, dogs
  • February — Valentine’s Day: hearts, love letters, rings, tulips
  • March — Wedding Bouquet: lilies, tulips, floral arrangements
  • April — Easter: bunnies, chicks, baskets
  • May — Mother’s Day: beautiful paper flowers
  • June — Modular Origami: Sonobe units, geometric shapes, paper engineering
  • July — Kirigami: cut‑paper art
  • August — TBC
  • September — Water Animals
  • October — Halloween: ghosts, bats, pumpkins
  • November — TBC
  • December — Christmas: festive models and decorations


📽️ What to Expect

This is an instructor‑led workshop with clear, step‑by‑step demonstrations projected on screen.
You’ll have time to fold each model, ask questions, and enjoy a relaxing creative session.

🌱 Our Mission

The Amsterdam Origami Club aims to build a friendly, creative community.
We’re looking for volunteers to help run sessions and eventually lead workshops.
If you’d like to learn how to teach origami confidently, message me — I’d love to train you.
