Chinese painting workshop for kidsIn this series of workshops, you will work with Chinese materials to create your own works of art, with each class focusing on a new topic. Draw a typical Dutch bird, a traditional dragon and this year's new animal of the biggest holiday in China.MeerkoetA meerkoet is a black water bird that does not belong to the ducks, but to the so-called ‘rails.’ They live near fresh water, such as ponds, lakes, and canals, and they like lots of reeds and aquatic plants. You’ve probably seen them around your neighborhood!Chinese New YearChinese New Year is a big, colorful 15-day party to welcome spring and new luck, celebrated by families with feasts, fireworks, dragon dances, and lucky red envelopes with money. Each year has a different animal from a 12-year cycle (like the Rat, Ox, or Dragon) and this year will be the year of the Horse!Chinese dragonA Chinese dragon is a friendly, magical creature symbolizing good luck, power, and wisdom. It has a snake's body, fish scales, tiger paws, and camel head, but flies without wings. They are important in Chinese culture, appearing in parades and art, bringing fortune, and are seen as powerful, benevolent guardians of water and nature.The ArtLab is for kids aged 6 to 15 and will be conducted in English.
