Let your child’s imagination run wild at this fun, creative drawing workshop. Together, we’ll invent The Hague Mutant, a hybrid creature made by all the kids drawing one body part at a time on a giant roll of paper. The twist? They won’t see what others drew before them until the end!

Learn about animals of The Hague

Before the drawing begins the children will learn some amazing facts about the animals that live in our city like seagulls, pigeons, rats, and more.

Some questions that will be anwered:

  • What’s inside the stomach of a seagull?
  • If a pigeon eats like a human, could it survive?
  • How does our foodwaste affect animal health?
  • Can a rat become addicted to fast food?

With these weird and wonderful facts, kids will imagine a mutant animal that can digest anything, even our trash! Then, they’ll draw its super-powered stomach and the rest of its wild body.

ArtLab and de Haagse Stadstekenaar

The workshop is hosted by the 2025 city Illustrator of The Hague Kexin Hao, the official artist who draws our city! The final drawing of this workshop will be part of the Haagse Stadstekenaar project and shown across the city with credits for each child.
