Basic Chinese knotting workshop

Discover the symbolism of traditional Chinese knots and learn various knotting techniques!

Discover the art of Chinese knotting in this hands-on workshop. You’ll be introduced to five fundamental Chinese knot, Good Luck Knot, Ribbon Knot, Button Knot, Double Connection Knot and Butterfly Knot, learning their history, symbolism and techniques.

All materials are provided. During the workshop, you’ll create your own decorative knots charms to hang on your bag or keychain and take home.

To ensure personal guidance, the workshop is limited to a maximum of six participants.

Tea and biscuits will be served in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

About Ruyi Crafts:

Ruyi Crafts offers traditional crafts and cultural workshops like Chinese knotting, beading and embroidery as well as Macramé. My handmade items are displayed at Chinese artists Collective 101 pop-up shop in West-Kruiskade. Starting from March 2026 I am present in the shop from 10:00-16:00 each Saturday. 10:00-12:00 is reserved for workshops and 12:00-16:00 reserved for opening the space for tea and chat.
