It is with great pleasure that Waag Futurelab presents the BioHack and Fab Academy Show on Thursday, June 13! During the festive conclusion of the two courses, you are welcome to come and admire the participants' works and presentations. If you are toying with the idea of participating in one of our Academies, you can ask questions and get a taste of the atmosphere this evening. Feel free to drop by. Fab Academy, in briefA 20-week programme in which you learn the art of making (almost) everything. In Waag's Fab Lab, you get to work with various (digital fabrication) tools and - under expert guidance - develop skills in electronics, programming, design and turning concepts into tangible objects. You can use practical experience to bring ideas to life in your prototypes. Biohack Academy in briefIn the BioHack Academy, you will dive into shaping the future of biotechnology and learn how to build your own bio-lab, how to grow living 'factories', and how to code and document your experiments. Think about growing biomaterials like fuel, food, filaments, drugs, fragrances, fungi and more. What is Waag Academy?Learning by doing. What better way to prepare for the future than by designing it yourself with your own protocol or artwork? Besides traditional schooling, other methods exist to develop skills and prepare us for the future. In het Fab Lab van Waag ga je aan de slag met diverse (digitale fabricage)gereedschappen en ontwikkel je - onder deskundige begeleiding - vaardigheden in elektronica, programmeren, ontwerpen en het omzetten van concepten in tastbare objecten. Praktijkervaring, waarmee je ideeën tot leven kunt brengen in eigen prototypes. BioHack Academy in het kortIn de BioHack Academy duik je in het vormgeven van de toekomst van biotechnologie en leer je hoe je een eigen biolab bouwt, hoe je levende 'fabrieken' kweekt en hoe je je experimenten codeert en documenteert. Denk aan het kweken van biomaterialen als brandstof, voedsel, filamenten, geneesmiddelen, geuren, schimmels en meer. Wat is Waag Academy?Leren door te doen. Hoe kun je je beter voorbereiden op de toekomst dan door ‘m zelf te ontwerpen met je eigen protocol of kunstwerk? Naast traditionele schoolbanken zijn er ook andere methoden om vaardigheden te ontwikkelen en ons klaar te stomen voor de toekomst. In Waag Academy staat het maakproces centraal en kun je met technologische ontwikkelingen effecten op onze dagelijkse levens onderzoeken.
