THE RETREAT

The Umbrian hills that embrace the ancient Eremito monastery are home to the archetype of the well- intentioned monk; Franciscus. Over the centuries, they have inspired some of the greatest achievements in art, literature and philosophy. Their essence of heartwarming interconnectedness can be understood profoundly in a single glance.

For this setting, we have composed a special Program for those who wish to dive deep into themselves and explore the infinite realm of consciousness under the safe and loving guidance of our Spinoza mentors.

We will start our days with breathwork, meditation and movement practices, we’ll go for walks into the hills to explore the natural beauty that we are part of, there will be a mind-opening philosophy night, optional mornings of fasting, 2 psychedelic ceremonies, lovely live music, massages, delicious and healthy home-cooked food and enough time and space for all the moments of joy and wonder we are certain to receive in this truly mystical place.

Our 5-day retreat program combines ancient practices and contemporary methods with our signature Spinoza approach and is supported by an online Preparation workshop and an Integration workshop one week after.

MEET YOUR GUIDES

Maarten van Huijstee has been teaching meditation and assisting people to make the journey inward for over a decade. With silence, plants and fungi he guides people towards natural wisdom.

Maarten has founded Delight Yoga, Wisdom in Business and the Inner Peace Network. These initiatives function as a network of organisations united around one sole purpose: inspiring a more natural and conscious way of living.

Spinoza forms the pinnacle of a personal journey with plant medicine starting in 1999 and has grown into an intelligent network of therapists and scientists united in the mission to experience and experiment with the health potential of natural medicine and nature therapy.

Maarten is a proud father to Philip, Alexander and Victoria, and dedicated husband to Anna.

Janneke Krijgsman loves guiding people to reconnect to their most authentic self. For many years she has been teaching meditation, yoga and breath work, while also exploring the fields of plant medicine.

For the last couple of years she has specialized in working 1 on 1, assisting people to find more clarity in the various challenges of life. Continuously inspired by her own inner journey, Janneke naturally invites people to discover their inner world, with all its depth and beauty. She has been with Spinoza from day one and has been essential in creating the Spinoza Programs.

Janneke brings a peaceful and loving presence as well as her voice and music to each Spinoza Ceremony. She loves beautiful conversations, early morning dips in the sea, and sharing homemade food with her loved ones.

She lives in The Hague and is a dedicated mother to her son Maas and daughter Ief.
