James Bishop is a composer, producer and singer/songwriter from San Diego, CA. BODYBOUND is Bishop's debut album, constructed entirely from iPhone recordings he captured while hiking 1,400 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail in 2017. Following five months on the trail, Bishop spent the next five years transforming his field recordings into an experimental indie art pop album. Thunderstorms became synthesizers, rustling pinecones became drums, and an orchestra emerged from a chorus of creaking iron gates. Ornate and expansive arrangements reflect the oscillating chaos and tranquility of an indifferent natural world, while Bishop's ardent vocals and songwriting anchor the record in a restless emotional core.
