Event description
See what YOU can do, to make intersectionality a serious aspect of youth work through ideas, practices and policy recommendations!

About this event

This is an opportunity for educators, professionals, trainers, and people otherwise working with youth or youth policy that are interested in the topic of intersectionality, identity, privilege, social inclusion, and oppression to join our international multiplier event: Bringing Intersectionality to YOUth Work.

Get familiar with our project, our work, and the ideas, practices and policy recommendations we’ve developed to promote the importance of an intersectional approach in youth work.

Connect with other youth workers and youth organisations and join forces in creating more inclusive and diverse youth initiatives!

MARTI - MAke it Relevant: Tools for Intersectionality” is a KA2 strategic partnership for innovation in the youth field, which aims to create an innovative educational approach and tools to apply intersectionality in youth work, made possible with Erasmus Plus Program funding and the dedicated work of the partners: Giosef Torino (Italy), New Generation (Palestine), Youth Exchange Service (Netherlands), Euroaccion (Spain).

By engaging in one of our practices - Dine & Discuss - we will let you experience why intersectionality matters and how you can learn and educate about it by starting a candid conversation.

Dine & Discuss is a homemade intercultural lunch followed by a big public discussion everyone is invited to contribute to. Speak up, share experiences, help create a space where it’s safe to be wrong and learn something new!

The discussion will be on the Euromediterranean dimension of youth work. After you sign up, you will receive an essay to brief you on the topic beforehand.

You will get the opportunity to try out more of the practices developed in the project.

Lastly, we will show you what YOU can do, to make intersectionality a serious aspect of youth work through a list of recommendations developed for policy makers.

We would love to have you there to share your thoughts on the outcomes of this project and learn about the novel opportunities this might bring to your youth work.

Entrance is free but spots are limited so be quick to sign up!

NB. Please make sure to notify us in case you can’t make it to avoid food waste! Thank you!

The event is brought to you by the Youth Exchange Service (YES!), a non-profit association that develops and supports youth initiatives and ideas into international youth projects. We believe in young people’s potential and from that, we create educational and challenging opportunities for international youth mobility for young people, youth workers, and young trainers.
