The border region between the Achterhoek and Twente is facing urgent challenges related to drought, heat stress, and water scarcity. These issues don’t stop at national borders – and neither should our solutions.
In this interactive info session, we will showcase inspiring regional initiatives from the Netherlands, Germany, and across Europe that are developing innovative approaches to climate-resilient water management. We highlight how local and regional governments, together with water authorities, are working across borders to build a resilient and sustainable water cycle.
In June 2025, the European Commission launched the Water Resilience Strategy, aiming to restore and protect the water cycle from source to sea, build a water-smart economy, and ensure clean and affordable water for all. This session will demonstrate how our region is putting this strategy into practice.
