About this event

During this educational workshop, Pelah Kitchen will guide you through the art of decorating cakes using local flowers.

You’ll learn the basics of stacking, filling, and working with buttercream through a captivating demonstration. Then you’ll immerse yourself in the beauty of creating edible masterpieces that not only taste divine but also look like works of art.

Each ticket includes:

  • A 6" cake and all items and tools needed to decorate. Including a box for each guest to take their cake home.
  • Light hors d'oeuvres, and Rosé courtesy of our beverage sponsor (NA available as well)
  • Once you've registered, you will be asked to select either a lemon butter cake or an espresso chocolate cake. We unfortunately cannot accommodate any allergies or dietary restrictions.

Jenneh Kaikai is the owner and cake designer at Pelah Kitchen, a bespoke micro-bakery based in Bedstuy, Brooklyn that specializes in botanical cake artistry. She creates whimsical and imaginative designs using local and non-toxic, flowers and produce.

Pelah means “home” in Mende, a nod to Jenneh’s Sierra-Leonean heritage. As a self taught baker and aspiring recipe maker, she likes to think of sharing her desserts with others as a way of inviting people into her home and ultimately the diverse flavors of the African diaspora.

Pelah Kitchen cakes have been featured in Vanity Fair Magazine, Cherry Bombe magazine, and in Google’s International Women’s Day Campaign.
