<a href="https://whatartcando.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">What Art Can Do</a> is a champion for the role of the arts, artists, and an artist mindset in the significant challenges of our time. The platform aims to show the world that art plays a role in achieving climate justice, encouraging climate action, and addressing climate change. It can only do so by looking beyond the dominant (white, Western) narrative in the art world.Starting from the question what art can do for the climate, in this session we want to bring together art projects, practices, and approaches from the Global South and indigenous and minority communities worldwide. The session has two objectives: 1) Gather and exchange successful climate-related art projects, and 2) more fundamentally build a list of recommendations and best practices to make art work for the climate.The session is aimed at cultural professionals, artists, art enthusiasts, and everyone who believes that art has a greater role to play in addressing the climate crisis. It will be facilitated by composer and activist Merlijn Twaalfhoven and cultural innovator Jasper Visser. The campfire session is an informal workshop that invites perspectives and stories of all involved.
