In Atelier Ainoa's ceramics workshops you experience working with clay, and get a chance to spend a relaxing afternoon among other international creatives.
In this cosy afternoon workshop, we make ceramic smoking pipes. Clay is a wonderful material for a pipe for its cooling qualities, organic origin and because it allows you to create a unique design with your own style.
During the three hours workshop, you will learn an easy way to make a smoking pipe of clay and to brush glaze it yourself. The workshop suits both for beginners and more advanced students.
Small group size 4-8 persons, prices include materials, tools and firing service. More info via email ainoaoffice@gmail.com. Ask also about private workshops.
Your ready works can be picked up after 2-4 wks.
While the clay transforms into a ceramic art piece in the process of sculpting, drying, firing and glazing, the creator also goes through a change in her own mindset. The versatility of clay invites you to search your own path while respecting the surprises on a way – sometimes delightful ones, sometimes incidents you need to adapt to.
The teacher is Sanna Pöyhönen who first put her hands in clay as a teenager and after 30 years is still in love with the ceramics as an art medium.
Atelier Ainoa is a new ceramics studio in Zaandam, the Netherlands. After several months of renovation an old Huyndai showroom in Penningweg 91 has turned into a spacious, bright art factory that accommodates the ceramic art and sculpting studio, and screenprinting masters of Krijger Vormgave.
Atelier Ainoa is specialised in guiding students to find their creativity and unique ways to express themselves. Learn the basic clay hand building techniques while working on your own ceramics project under the guidance of an experienced teacher.
