The Challenges for Good event brings (potential) challenge owners, data experts and hackers together to prepare hackathon challenges.
About this event
The Challenges for Good event brings current and potential challenge owners together with enablers and experts who can provide valuable feedback or direction in finalising the formulation of their questions.
The session includes an introduction to the Challenge owner role and the Hackathon for Good goals for 2022, followed by breakouts per challenge where the challenge owners get the opportunity to learn, discuss and present their challenge. The open environment creates space also for data and tech enablers to suggest open-source data sets or tooling collaborations to help tackle the problem.
This second edition focuses on the topic from the Spaarne Gast Ziekenhuis:
Challenge question:
How to reduce the pressure on the healthcare staff and supply management in a data driven way by combining capacity, treatment processes and environmental information?
"Healthcare is under constant pressure, having enough resources at the right moment is always a challenge. While supplies could easily be scaled up, staffing is not. The planning of people is still a tailored task for the management. Based on experience, the staff will be planned throughout the year. How can staff be planned in a data driven way? What would be the effect from the weather, events, etc. on the capacity planning. What is the effect of a typical injury on the capacity of the different departments within a hospital?"
