Date and time

About this event
If we know to quite some extent what a living income is in different contexts, how come we have not implemented and/or scaled it in practice? There are various drivers and barriers that can stimulate or hamper the effect of living wage programs. A living income should be a no-brainers, yet complex to implement.
In this workshop session, students from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool van Amsterdam) will become familiar with systems thinking to identify levers for positive change. In teams, they will work on designing actionable interventions to achieve a living income for cocoa households. They will be supported by various experts in the cocoa industry.
Are you a student from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool van Amsterdam)? And are you up for a challenge? Sign up through this page.
Drinks and snacks will be provided throughout the session.
Chocolate for Everyone week 15 to 17 December 2021.
This event is part of the Chocolate for Everyone week from 15-17 December 2021 organized by the Centre for Economic Transformations* from the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam. During this week we zoom in on the big question: how can we close the living income gap in the cacao industry? Several panel discussions are organized with stakeholders from the industry to shed light on different pathways how we could close this income gap. We will look at the role of transparency, biodiversity and close the week with exploring different perspectives what should be done to create only fair and sustainable chocolate bars.
