36 hours of applied innovation

March 29-30, 2014

The first Cleanweb Hackathon in the Netherlands

Do you want to make an idea come to life, improve your skill set and meet like-minded people while making the world a better place?

Join us in the first Cleanweb Hackathon in the Netherlands!

A weekend-long competition where sustainably-minded developers, web designers, entrepreneurs and students gather to learn new skills, connect with like minded people and build mobile and web apps around new ways to manage energy, water, waste and fuel.

During the event you have 36 hours to plan and take your idea to prototype. You will work (preferably) with a team to build solution on these topics:

Main topic:

Decentralized energy solutions - supported by the City of Rotterdam

Open entry:

Waste management
Smart transport solutions
Climate Change
Energy efficiency
Sharing Economy

You will join dozens of other hackers, hustlers, entrepreneurs and students who will work in teams to build innovative IT solutions that aim to make the world a better, cleaner and more sustainable place.

Coaches

At the venue there will be coaches to assist the teams through the process. The coaches are experts from a variety of backgrounds.

Jury

On Sunday evening the teams will present their ideas and solutions in front of a jury composed of investors, entrepreneurs and policy makers.

Prize

The winners will be awarded a cash and in kind prize (total value 5000 euros). The specifics TBA.

We are Cleanweb: a worldwide movement of developers, entrepreneurs, investors, and enterprises large and small who believe that the growing web of information technologies may be our most powerful - and profitable - tool to improve global sustainability, economic prosperity, and human well being.
