Everyone knows the word initiation or initiate, but who knows the inner meaning behind these words? ‘Initiate’ means ‘beginner’, someone who makes a beginning in entering new realms. But what are these realms? Why would, and when can you enter them? Is it an individual effort, or can you expect help?

In this series, we explore these questions and discover why initiation is not an end in itself, but only a means of preparing yourself to be a helping force to humanity.

The true mysticism of the Solar Being has been mostly veiled in the initiation stories. In this lecture we will discuss this spiritual Being, behind the outer sun. What influence does it exert? What function does it have in initiations? And since we live in its sphere, how can we humans experience its influence?

During our lives we have the role of both student and teacher in different situations. Everyone therefore knows from experience when the transfer between the two was successful and when it was not. And also that the relationship between the two is of determining importance. What makes this relationship so essential and what does it consist of? Why is it, that regarding initiation it is even more of importance?

During initiations, advanced students on the Path of Evolution awaken the deeper layers within themselves. This allows them to enter unknown realms of consciousness. The question arises: what is the aim of initiation?
