Conversations We Avoid Around Money – Part Three of Our “Money and Meaning” Series Money touches every part of life.Our relationships. Our confidence. Our sense of independence. And yet, it remains one of the most difficult topics to talk about. Research shows that money is considered more taboo than politics or religion. That silence carries a cost. It fuels stress, misunderstanding, and imbalance in relationships and workplaces. For women especially, avoiding money conversations can mean lost confidence, missed opportunities, and unequal participation in financial decisions. After exploring financial mindset in Session 1 and real-life money journeys in Session 2, we now turn to something deeper. Session 3 is about the conversations we avoid. This online fireside chat with financial literacy experts Inés Zuriaga del Castillo and María Porras Rodríguez from Amamos el Dinero creates space to explore the money questions we think about but rarely say out loud. What do you say when a friend keeps asking for financial help?How do you talk about money with a partner or someone who earns much more or much less than you?Where is the line between empathy and responsibility?How do you ask about money at work without being labeled “money-driven”? This session is not about fixing anyone’s finances.It is about learning how to talk about money with clarity, confidence, and respect.
