During the COVID-19 pandemic, rule of law institutions and practices have taken a direct hit in every region of the world. Please join us for a special in-person briefing and discussion of the World Justice Project’s Rule of Law Index 2021, capturing experiences and perceptions of the rule of law reported by thousands of experts and households in 139 countries. The first in this annual series to be published since the pandemic was declared, the Index reveals rule of law developments during the pandemic period, including deterioration in constraints on government powers, civic space, and timeliness of justice. To discuss these findings, WJP’s Chief Engagement Officer, Ted Piccone, will present the main findings from the Index and share stories of justice champions who are responding in innovative ways to this unprecedented crisis.This physical event will take place at the Humanity Hub in The Hague. Make sure to read the COVID regulations of the Humanity Hub: proof of vaccination OR proof of recovery OR proof of a negative test is needed.
