An afternoon of ambience, drones and moving textures

Programma 14:30 Inloop 15:00 Rengbird 16:00 Flowers/Ghosts&amp;EchoesFlowers/Ghosts&amp;Echoes is een audiovisueel trio uit Den Haag, bestaande uit twee elektrische gitaren en live visuals, gecreëerd met een projector en een buigzame spiegel. Het improviserende elektrische gitaarduo, bestaande uit Gonçalo Oliveira en James Alexandropoulos-McEwan, verkent een langzaam bewegend instrumentaal landschap van drones, post-rock-ambiance met elementen van noise-muziek en post-minimalisme. Dit samenspel gaat in dialoog met de performatieve visuals van Felix Bodin, die gebruikmaakt van zijn zelfontworpen visuele instrument: een projectiesysteem waarbij digitaal gegenereerde patronen worden gereflecteerd en vervormd via een buigzame spiegelende oppervlakte, waardoor unieke en meeslepende licht- en projectieshows ontstaan. Soms subtiel en verstild, op andere momenten onvoorspelbaar, dynamisch en spannend.Rengbird is het solo-ambient project van de in Nederland gevestigde producer, gitarist en componist Rengert Eggink. Met een bewuste stap weg van de helderheid en precisie van digitale opname technologieën, werd Rengbird’s nieuwe release Origami Mountains geproduceerd op een viersporen-cassetterecorder tijdens zijn recente reizen, waaronder een langere trip naar zijn geboorteland Zuid-Afrika. Met behulp van effectpedalen creëert de warmte van het tape-medium, met zijn zachte ruisende texturen, een uitnodigende wereld van caleidoscopische klanktapijten, met delicate dronende lagen, glitchy ambient, zachte loops en subtiele melodische sporen. Program 14:30 Doors open 15:00 Rengbird 16:00 Flowers/Ghosts&amp;EchoesFlowers/Ghosts&amp;Echoes is an audio-visual trio based in The Hague, The Netherlands, consisting of two electric guitars and live visuals created with a projector and a malleable hand-held mirror.An improvising electric guitar duo consisting of Gonçalo Oliveira and James Alexandropoulos-McEwan, explores a slow-moving instrumental landscape of drones, post-rock ambience with some elements of noise music and post minimalism. Interacting with the performative visuals of Felix Bodin, using his self-designed visual instrument, consisting of projections reverberated through the performance space with the use of a malleable mirrored surface which spreads distorts or focuses digitally generated patterns into unique and dazzling light and projection shows. Sometimes delicate and beautifully serene, other times erratic, unpredictable, and exciting.Rengbird is the solo ambient project of the Netherlands-based producer / guitarist / composer Rengert Eggink. Taking a conscious step away from the clarity and precision of digital recording technologies, Rengbird’s new release “Origami Mountains” was produced on 4-track cassette recorder during his recent travels, which included an extended trip to his birth-country of South Africa.
