Session VII: Commoning within More-than-Human Worlds
On Solid Ground — Session VII: Commoning within More-than-Human Worlds
On Solid Ground is a wandering reading and research group organised by Katerina Sidorova and anna andrejew, where theory meets the soil. In this seventh session, we gather to read texts by Silvia Federici and Pjotr Kropotkin, thinking the commons as a living, relational practice that exceeds the human.
Readings:
Silvia Federici, Re-enchanting the World
- “Commons Against and Beyond Capitalism”
- “Re-enchanting the World: Feminism and the Politics of the Commons”
Pjotr Kropotkin, Mutual Aid
- Chapter 1: “Mutual Aid Among Animals”
Reading Federici’s reflections on re-enchantment, care, and the politics of the commons alongside Kropotkin’s attention to cooperation across species, we explore commoning as something enacted through bodies, land, and more-than-human worlds. Rather than an ideal or a finished form, the commons appears here as an ongoing, fragile practice — shaped through attention, responsibility, and shared life.
Registration is required.
As this is a reading-based session, participants are kindly asked to commit to reading the texts in advance in order to support a shared and attentive discussion. All are welcome. No prior background is needed — only a willingness to read, listen, and think together with care.
