Cycling the Unknown – BYOB (Bring Your Own Bike) is a participatorycycling performance that explores polluted weather as a shared, embodiedexperience. In this cycling experience, participants are invited to pedal through polluted areas of Rotterdam harbour, using sensing technology, including their own bodies, and collectively ‘weathering’ under the guidance of the artist.
Location: Vlaardingen & Botlek site. The tour will start from the metro station Vlaardingen West. We will inform you about the exact starting location of the tour after the registration.
Transport: Please take with you a bike. You can either bring your own bike or rent OV bike or Donkey Republic bike at Vlaardingen or Maassluis. However, the number of bikes available for rent is very be limited and it is safer to take your own bike. On the weekend you can freely travel with your bike on the metro.
We will use the Discord app to follow the guide's instructions and to communicate with other participants. We kindly ask you to download the Discord app on your phone before the tour and also take with you headphones.
