Think Grimm’s fairy tales, but modern day so it’s quite hellish:
A young boy flying across the ocean to run away from masculinity.
A relationship in the dark with a man that turned out to be married.
A passionate first date that turned into a funeral.
A bottom that lied he was a top.
An Asian twink fetishised by a white guy and still ended up coming over (his body).
Pour the stories over some catchy tunes and mesmerizing vocal (by yours truly of course), and you get a glimpse of “daniel’s lore” - a project by Daniel Nguyễn, a genre-fusing musician and songwriter from Vietnam. The stories in daniel’s lore are always a mix of reality and fiction, and most of them happen inside his mind - but you will guarantee to relate to them one way or another.
Come to PARLOUR Amsterdam on an autumn night, make yourself comfortable, because we will be singing out loud stories that leave you in laughter, in tears, or in shock - depends on how far you’re willing to explore! Bring an open mind and get gezellig with us!
