Book launch: DATAPOLIS

Nieuwe Instituut is het nationale museum voor architectuur, design en digitale cultuur. Nieuwe Instituut houdt zich bezig met de grote ontwikkelingen in de maatschappij, zoals de krapte op de woningmarkt, de energietransitie, de opkomst van kunstmatige intelligentie, mobiliteit of het gebruik van de publieke ruimte. Ontwerpers, waaronder architecten en digitale makers, kunnen aan die ontwikkelingen een belangrijke bijdrage leveren. Nieuwe Instituut toont het werk van ontwerpers, brengt mensen met elkaar in contact, verzamelt, ontwikkelt en deelt kennis.

Join us for the launch of DATAPOLIS, with editors Paul Cournet, Negar Sanaan Bensi and several guests, including Georg Vrachliotis, Kees Kaan, Paul Swagerman and Setareh Noorani. This event is moderated by Saskia van Stein (Director IABR), who will lead various talks about the spatial and physical influences of data.Data has become a critical component of our lives, yet the mechanism of this &#x27;infosphere&#x27; is not always fully understood. This new publication titled DATAPOLIS examines the materiality of data, through tangible and intangible means, its inherent ethical and political contradictions as well as its cultural and environmental footprints.
