Deep Time Walk @DDW

Deep Time Walk special edition during Dutch Design Week in collaboration with the BioArt Laboratories

Join us for this special edition of a Deep Time Walk, where we will explore the 4.6bn years of Earth’s history on a guided 4.6km walk through city and nature in Eindhoven during the Dutch Design Week. We physically inhabit the deep timelines that remind us how intertwined our lives are with geology, ecology and culture.

Our journey will take us from the Main Station to the premises of BioArt Laboratories, where you can continue the exploration of key concepts and topics covered during the walk (water, waste, symbiosis, regeneration to name a few), here expressed as fascinating artworks and intriguing installations.

Dutch Design Week (DDW), organized by Dutch Design Foundation, uses design as a driver for positive social change, with strong emphasis on sustainability and our relationship with nature. Under its mission Thriving Planet, DDW highlights themes such as ecology (climate, water, energy, biodiversity), sustainability (circular design, biobased construction, material innovation, waste), and systemic change (agriculture, industry, behavior, food systems).

About BioArt Laboratories

BioArt Laboratories functions as a gateway to a world of unlimited possibilities where science, nature, technology and creativity go hand in hand. These domains together form the foundation for a sustainable bio-based community which offers ample room for the thinking and creating human. During DDW, artists will show their works which are themed around Thriving Planet, in a magical crossover of nature, art and science.

Practical Information:

Further information about the event, such as the exact starting point in the vicinity of the Eindhoven Central Station, will be shared upon registration.

Access to the BioArt Laboratories is free of charge.

Restrooms and refreshment opportunities are available at The BioArt Laboratories and at De Proeftuin restaurant nearby.

Your DDW wristband gives you access to the XPENG Design Rider, which takes you to the next DDW location, so you do not need to walk back ;-)

10% of the ticket fee will go to the Deep Time Walk Project, so they can educate more facilitators.
