About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Benjamin Duerr is a political scientist, lawyer and writer who shares his in-depth knowledge on international politics and law through research and publications.

In his book, Benjamin discusses the impact of the two international Peace Conferences in The Hague. They marked the beginning of the city’s global recognition and fame. For a short period in time, all eyes were on The Hague.

In conversation with Tijmen Rooseboom, Executive Director of NIMD, he will explore The Hague’s international identity, its symbolic role as City of Peace and Justice, and what this dream means in practice. For democracy, diplomacy and the future.

Is The Hague living up to its ideals? What happens when ambition meets reality on the global stage? And where does democracy fit in?

We hope to see you there!
