Overview

Join Detect & Protect III to explore drone detection, protection, security applications and legislation.

On Thursday 11 June 2026, Unmanned Valley will host the third edition of Detect & Protect: an annual event focused on drone detection, protection, security applications and legislation.

Drones are playing an increasingly important role in safety and security. They offer new opportunities for inspection, monitoring and protection, but also create new challenges for organisations responsible for critical infrastructure, public safety and secure environments.

Detect & Protect III brings together professionals from government, defence, security, technology, research and industry to exchange knowledge, explore practical applications and discuss the legal and operational questions surrounding unmanned systems.

The programme is built around four main themes:

Detect
How do you detect, identify and monitor drones?
With attention to radar, RF detection, acoustic detection, optical systems and real-life use cases.

Protect
How do you protect critical infrastructure and secure areas against unwanted drones?
Including counter-drone solutions, operational challenges and practical protection measures.

Security
How can drones be used to improve safety and security?
From surveillance and inspection to monitoring and protection of sites and infrastructure.

Law & Ethics
What is allowed, what is responsible and who is accountable?
With attention to privacy, ICT and AI law, drone imagery, roles and responsibilities, and the legal framework around unmanned systems.

Throughout the day, participants can join plenary sessions, breakout sessions, practical case discussions and networking moments. The programme is currently being finalised and confirmed speakers will be announced soon.
