University of Groningen Alumni ChaptersThe University of Groningen (UG) hosts events in cities across the world. From Jakarta to Berlin to San Francisco, alumni meet each other in regions where many Groningen alumni reside. The University has tight knit groups of alumni in some areas, that organize gatherings a few times per year. Some of them have established a local board with objectives. We call them ourinternational alumni chapters. We support international alumni chapters by offering UG representation at events. Traveling staff and board members love to interact with alumni and share UG developments. Moreover, professors and faculty members of the University provide interactive lectures and address some of the world’s most pressing challenges they are working on.Chapters are established in New York City, Washington DC, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Singapore, Zurich, Berlin, Jakarta, Brussels and there are more to come.

Months ago, long before the corona pandemia started, the alumni chapter Brussels planned a meet and greet on 10 June with CEO Google Belgium and Luxembourg, Thierry Geerts. 
Thierry Geerts wrote the book Digitalis: How to reinvent the world. In the light of the corona pandemia, this is the fascinating moment to talk to him about his view on the future of digitalization after this period. He will be interviewed by Tammo Bijmolt, professor at the University of Groningen Faculty of Economics and Business and director of Groningen Digital Business Centre.
The current situation also forced us to move this wonderful event to our virtual living room. All University of Groningen alumni who had a wonderful time in Groningen are invited to join this session. Sign up to get your ticket for the online session. On the sign up form you also have the opportunity to ask your question. We will try to answer as many questions as possible.
