About this event
Daily, we as human beings are involved with one another. Interacting in different ways and having conversations lie at the core of human connection. Have you ever thought about what kind of conversations you are having?
The meeting highlights the importance of connecting thoughts while people make something with their hands. Crafting is a way to reconnect with each other, with tangible materials and no digital interference, while igniting sensory interaction and looking for deep and honest conversations.
Productivity is around the corner, we are constantly facing tasks to solve and fill expectations, in this Craft Tellers’ Room, we will have time to share and reflect on how we see ourselves through colorful threads.
Laura Mendez is an interdisciplinary artist from Colombia. Her approach to the arts has been through theatre, dance, pole dance and the writing of short stories. In recent years she has worked with embroidery and crochet, the possibility of telling stories, expressing ideas and connecting with their contexts. After studying the Master Imagineering at the Breda University of Applied Sciences, she is trying and experiencing different possibilities to meet, reconstruct the social fabric and listen to silent voices through textiles, thus generating positive impacts on society.
