We’re back with another exciting Holland in the Valley Alumni Event! Join us on Thursday, 16th May 2024 from 5:30-8:00 PM at the Netherlands Consulate in San Francisco to connect with fellow alumni and academic entrepreneurs from leading Dutch universities.This event is particularly significant as we welcome Techleap and the Academic Startup Program to the Bay Area, alongside the Internships in the Valley program. With this collaboration, we're aiming for a bigger and more diverse networking evening where you can reconnect with alumni from Dutch universities, such as Utrecht University, Leiden University, Maastricht University, Tilburg University, University of Amsterdam, and VU Amsterdam, and meet the most promising academic entrepreneurs from the Netherlands.Join us for an evening of networking, collaborating, and building new connections. Hedi began her career as an engineer scientist and moved to Europe to lead a transatlantic team, developing AI-enabled therapies for heart failure patients resulting in more than 25 patents and many publications. She later led her Silicon Valley-based startup in AI from inception to a successful exit. She has led the development and commercialization of AI products in the healthcare, climate tech, energy and tech sectors. Today, Hedi leads the global AI Competence Center at Start2 group and advises AI startups worldwide on their AI product design and launch strategies. She holds a BA and an MBA from the University of Virginia.</blockquote>Luis Mejia (panel) | Senior Licensing Manager | <a href="https://otl.stanford.edu/" title="https://otl.stanford.edu/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Stanford Unviersity Office of Technology Licensing (OTL)</a><blockquote>Luis has been a technology transfer professional at Stanford for over 30 years. He is a licensing professional at Stanford University and is the former CEO of Hawaiian Ethos, LLC, a medical cannabis company in Hawaii. Prior to Hawaiian Ethos he was Associate Director in the Office of Technology Licensing at Stanford University and is the Founder of the Stanford Innovation Farm Teams (iFarm Teams). As Stanford OTL’s Associate Director, he led a team of Licensing Associates with a technology portfolio of over 1,600 technologies ranging from engineering to medicine, representing 75% of Stanford’s license revenue.</blockquote><blockquote>Mr. Mejia has been involved with the founding of several Silicon Valley start-ups and been an advisor to research organizations such as Los Alamos National Laboratory and Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.
