Enlightenment: Philosophy Salon
Sometimes people say that they feel most lonely when they are around other people. We may be surrounded by kindness and goodness, but not know what to do with it. Enlightenment - the central concept in many religious traditions - is similar. It can be right at hand, but seem out of reach. We are so used to darkness that we don't know what to do with the light. In this Philosophy Salon, we will look at the idea of enlightenment in different spiritual traditions, and try to understand whether light and darkness are mutually exclusive things. What is spiritual and psychological blindness? And what does it really mean to see?
