Epigraphy.info V workshop: Vincent Razanajao, “Consolidating and using the EAGLE thesaurus with epigraphic corpora”

<p>The aim of this workshop is to move forward on the key question of metadata related to epigraphy, by addressing the more specific issue of thesauri. The workshop will be introduced by short presentations of SKOS (Simple Knowledge Organization System), the standard ontology in thesaurus building, and of the Thesaurus Management system developed at AusoHNum, a web application and an API implementing SKOS that could host the thesauri for epigraphy.</p><p>On this basis, the main tasks of the workshop will be to consolidate the material  from the <a href="https://www.eagle-network.eu/resources/vocabularies/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">EAGLE vocabularies</a> which offers a high number of concepts but obviously requires some cleaning up (double entries, issues in hierarchy, …). This also will be the opportunity to discuss the question of mapping with other, still growing thesauri related to the subject.</p>
