OverviewJoin our protest outside Farmfoods as we call on them to honour their commitment to go cage freeLooking for a way to take action for farmed animals? Join me at this protest to raise awareness of chicken welfare!· 8 out of 10 hens in the UK are now free from cages, but Farmfoods has broken its promise to free hens from cages, throwing out excuse after excuse about value and affordability. This simply doesn’t hold up, as Farmfoods caged eggs are the same price as Aldi’s free-range eggs.· Farmfoods are the last big retailer clinging onto this cruelty, with all other UK supermarkets moving to cage-free eggs.· Hens in cages can’t have a life worth living, they have barely the space of an A4 piece of paper to live out their entire lives. It’s time to ditch the FactoryFarmfoods and stop selling eggs from caged hens.What the event will involve:We will meet outside Farmfoods at 12pm on Sunday 12th April - I will provide my number once you sign up to come along and you can call me if you get lost!When everyone arrives I will introduce myself and tell you a bit more about THL UK. Then we’ll start our protest! All materials are provided, so just wear suitable clothing for the weather.We’ll be standing outside with placards, and handing out information about chicken welfare, and encouraging positive conversations amongst the public.At the end we can go grab some vegan food together if people are up for itNot only will you meet a great group of like-minded individuals, but you’ll also be directly helping to reduce animal suffering.This event is open to anyone who believes in our mission: to end the abuse of all animals raised for food. You do not need to be a current volunteer or affiliated with THL UK in any way, everyone is welcome. You don’t have to be vegan to attend this event.We’ve picked a site we believe to be accessible for wheelchair users but if you would like to double check your accessibility needs please contact the organiser, who will be happy to help.
