About the Masters

Sruli Recht

An amalgam of his many influences and aptitudes, award-winning Icelandic designer Sruli Recht is an exemplar of the hybrid ethos. Equal parts innovator and provocateur, Recht has made a career of blurring the lines between fine art, runway fashion, and industrial design.

From his beginnings in the fashion arena working with the likes of Alexander McQueen to his own “Non-Product” series exploring the relationship between production materials and waste, Recht’s two decades of professional output have honed his contrarian approach to design, culminating in his latest endeavor as chief designer for Norlan, a brand focused on modernizing the whisky drinking experience through design, science, and ritual.

Gaspard Yurkievich

Winner of the International Festival of Fashion in Hyères in 1997, Gaspard Yurkievich affirms the strength of his vision since his first fashion show in 1998 in Paris.

The men's RTW collection launched in 2003 followed by the women's shoe collection the year after, contributed to build a personal and recognizable style: Parisian fashion revisited with modernity expressed through his clothes and his approach to their context.

Performances, live music and art pieces are very often part of his fashion shows, priviledged fields of artistic experimentation.

Barbara Langendijk & Noon Passama

PASSAMA / LANGENDIJK is a collaborative project between fashion designer Barbara Langendijk and jewellery designer Noon Passama. Started as a material investigation, their first capsule collection (2017) consists of garments structured by jewellery-like elements. Part of the experiment was to plate silver directly on the synthetic fur. For their new collection, the designers work on the subject of fur and the notions and values associated to it in the fashion context.

Current Obsession is a jewellery magazine and platform based in the Netherlands. Appreciated for its experimental approach and unconventional style, it showcases new ways of presenting and experiencing jewellery. CO collaborates with exceptional designers and artists and develops curatorial projects and events with renowned brands and cultural institutions.
