Good films can raise questions about worldviews, current  hot-topics, or even open our eyes to other people's experiences or situations that were unknown to us.In "Let's movie it!" we aim to show good quality movies with a wide variety of styles and themes, followed by an open discussion in an informal and friendly atmosphere, hoping to leave some food for thought.

- - - - ~ - - - - Shortly after Easter, we will be showing a biographical comedy-drama, based on the true story of Florence Foster Jenkins, and featuring a fantastic performance by Meryl Streep (worthy of her 20th Oscar nomination). Florence Foster Jenkins (Stephen Frears, 2016) Between the 1920s and 1940s, there was a voice that shocked the world. Florence Foster Jenkins became a successful singer who sold many records and performed numerous recitals, including one concert at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York. However, her fame mostly arose from her unconventional musical (in)abilities. The film dances around the boundaries between enabling delusional insanity and human compassion; chasing ambitious dreams and the truth of lacking talent; bullying and entertainment; authenticity and manipulation; and different perspectives on the core value of art. This story unfolds through the complex interplay of human interactions in the presence of competing interests, where multiple parallel realities coexist.In such a complex diversity of perceptions, is there place for a truth?Should we confront it? or should we go along with it?On what basis do we define our own value as human beings, and how do we value others?
