As a science communicator and comedian (including the Belgian Improvisation League), he is part of Nerdland, the popular science podcast alongside Lieven Scheire.</p>

Agenda

Kick off the event with a warm welcome from our host, who will provide an overview of the day’s agenda. This introductory session will set the stage for an engaging discussion on the critical role of AI in combating fraud. In this eye-opening session, Mr. Pluvinage (ING, Product Lead Fraud Expertise & Detection) will delve into the tactics employed by fraudsters who leverage artificial intelligence to enhance their schemes. He will discuss real-world examples of AI-driven fraud, illustrating how criminals exploit technology to manipulate systems and evade detection. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the evolving landscape of fraud and the urgent need for robust countermeasures.

How Fraudsters Use AI

Join Mr. Necula (Deputy Head of Unit, Intelligence and Operational Analysis, OLAF) as he shares his expertise on harnessing the power of AI for effective fraud detection and prevention. This session will cover innovative tools and methodologies that organizations can implement to identify fraudulent activities before they escalate. Learn about the latest advancements in generative AI and data analytics that are revolutionizing the way OLAF approaches fraud detection, ensuring a proactive stance against potential threats.

Benefits and Pitfalls of Using AI in Fraud Investigations

Jeroen Baert graduated in 2010 as a civil engineer in computer science and specialized in computer graphics at KU Leuven. As a science communicator and comedian (including the Belgian Improvisation League), he is part of Nerdland, the popular science podcast alongside Lieven Scheire.
What is Artificial Intelligence really, and what is it not? What is generative AI?
How do ChatGPT and Dall-E work? What are the strengths and weaknesses of current AI techniques? What is the impact of AI on our society and the way we work and gather information? What does the future of AI technology look like? How can you smartly implement AI at this moment?
