From Micro-Dialogues to Global Peace: Expanding Mediation’s Reach

The International Mediation Institute is a non-profit public initiative with the vision of professional mediation worldwide, promoting consensus and access to justice.  To this end it convenes global stakeholders in establishing high mediation standards, promotes understanding and adoption of mediation, and disseminates skills and materials for parties, counsel, and mediators, including a professional Code of Conduct.  By driving transparency and high competency standards in mediation worldwide, IMI is making a positive difference to the dispute resolution world.

On this International Day of Peace, we invite you to a conversation about the profound power of narrative in forging peace. In a world grappling with division, the principles of mediation offer a powerful path forward. From the art of "nano-negotiations" with loved ones to the courage required to challenge inherited narratives of conflict and trauma, this event will inspire and equip you to be a leader of peace. Join us on September 21, 2025, at 7:00 PM CEST for a transformative session where we will uncover how the skills of a mediator are not just for the conference room, but for every aspect of our lives. Together with our distinguished speakers Ken Cloke and Andrea O’Neill, moderated by IMI Executive Director Ivana Ninčić Österle and IMI Intern Abigél Farkas, we will explore:<ul><li>The Power of the Micro: Learn how to apply "micro-dialogues," “mini-mediations,” and "nano-negotiations" to shift stalled conversations in your everyday life, workplace, and community.</li><li>Beyond the Room: Discover how mediators can move beyond the one-on-one setting to engage with societal and global conflicts.</li><li>Narratives and Trauma: Understand how to deconstruct and reframe the "warlike" narratives that divide us.
