Join us for a webinar with Dr. Natalie van der Wal about gaining new insights in evacuation behavior through analysis and simulation.
In her talk she will discuss the sustainability goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities that is related to her work on emergency preparedness. In this light she will talk about her Safety Science article ‘analysis of actual evacuation behavior and communications’ and her very recent sustainability article which she uses Agent Based Modeling to investigate the effectiveness of emergency communications.
This webinar is a conjunction of TU Delft Safety & Security Institute and Campus The Hague.

Speaker:
Dr. Natalie van der Wal, Assistant Professor at the Department of Multi-Actor Systems, section Systems Engineering and Simulation at TU Delft. She holds a PhD in both Psychology and Artificial Intelligence from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2012). Before this position, Dr. Van der Wal was a Senior Research Fellow at Leeds University Business School (2015 & 2018-2020) and Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2012-2018).
