Rooted in the exhibition Watering a Black Garden’s exploration of care, joy, and intentional tending, the Bloom as Ritual workshop invites participants to engage with flowers as living materials for connection and creative expression. Inspired by the garden as a space of care, this workshop approaches floral arranging as a collective ritual and a gesture of nurturing.

Guided by the themes of joy, softness, and intentional care central to the exhibition, participants will create their own flower arrangements while reflecting on practices of nourishment and growth. The session offers a relaxed, communal atmosphere where creativity and conversation come together.

Paula’s Bloemenstudio is an Amsterdam-based flower studio, born from a desire to bring creativity, fun, and love for flowers into one place. Paula tells stories through petals, colors, and textures, and they believe flowers have a unique power to channel emotions. Their blooms are picked weekly to ensure high quality and the lowest possible environmental impact. Together, the workshop becomes a space to create a unique bouquet, inviting participants to carry a living piece of the exhibition’s essence home.

De workshop Bloom as Ritual, voortbouwend op de tentoonstelling Watering a Black Garden, nodigt deelnemers uit om bloemen te gebruiken als materiaal voor verbinding en creatieve expressie. Geïnspireerd door de tuin als een ruimte van zorg, benadert deze workshop bloemschikken als een collectief ritueel en een gebaar van koestering.

Geleidt door de thema's vreugde, zachtheid en bewuste aandacht die centraal staan ​​in de tentoonstelling, creëren deelnemers hun eigen bloemstukken en reflecteren ze op gebruiken van voeding en groei. De sessie biedt een ontspannen, gemeenschappelijke sfeer waar creativiteit en conversatie samenkomen.

Paula's Bloemenstudio is een bloemenstudio in Amsterdam, ontstaan ​​vanuit de wens om creativiteit, plezier en liefde voor bloemen samen te brengen. Paula vertelt verhalen door middel van bloemblaadjes, kleuren en texturen, en gelooft dat bloemen een unieke kracht hebben om emoties over te brengen. Hun bloemen worden wekelijks geplukt om een ​​hoge kwaliteit en een zo laag mogelijke milieubelasting te garanderen. De workshop biedt ruimte om een ​​uniek boeket te creëren, waarmee deelnemers een levend stukje van de tentoonstelling mee naar huis kunnen nemen.
