Bio:
Hend Samir is an Egyptian painter based in Amsterdam. Born in 1986, she graduated from the Helwan University of Fine Arts in 2008. Recent Group exhibition Good Mom/Bad Mom, Centraal Museum, Utrecht (2025). Outside the Soup, W139, Amsterdam, (2024) . Solo presentations include Art Basel Statements, Basel, Switzerland (2023), Felix Art Fair, Los Angeles (2023) Hide and Seek, Harkawik New York (2022), Frieze London (2021), Running in a Skewed Daydream, Harkawik Los Angeles (2021), Hula Hoop Labyrinth, Gallery Misr (2018). Group exhibitions include Gladys Nilsson & Hend Samir, Parker Gallery, Los Angeles (2024), NADA Miami, Miami, FL (2023), Daydreaming pressed against a fence, Harkawik Los Angeles (2023), NADA Miami, Miami, FL (2021), the 7th Cairo Video Festival at Medrar Gallery (2017), Photo Cairo 6 at CIC (2016). Internationally, her work has been featured in exhibitions in the US, Sweden, Spain and the Netherlands. Samir recently completed a residency at the Rijksakademie Van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
