Insight and the Great Unconscious

Overview

A fun and super-insightful discussion about what makes insight so special and why it's so challenging to cultivate insight.

Insight and the Great Unconscious: Philosophy Salon

Why do we love insight? Is it the spark it brings, the sense of discovery and creativity, or the excitement of the journey ahead? Insight, in contrast to intuition, is well-studied in contemporary neuroscience and psychology. But do we really understand insight? How is it that we suddenly get a sense of illumination, and why is it so difficult to force insight? In this Philosophy Salon, we will puzzle over these issues, and see if we can come up with some insights about insight!
