An afternoon for TU Delft researchers on IoT using cloud services

Are you using, or are you planning to use Internet-of-things methods in your research?In this workshop you will get an introduction into the IoT service portfolio that is offered through AWS, covering topics like edge compute, IoT connectivity, data collection and data analytics.As an example of how cloud computing can accelerate you research, we will perform a live demonstration of a managed edge device with a low cost camera sending collected images to AWS. We show how you can set up real time object recognition and data analytics.The session will be concluded with an interactive whiteboarding session. We will draft example architectures addressing use cases from research cases from the audience. Are you considering an experiment that uses sensors, camera’s or where you need to remotely operate things? Bring your use-case to the session and we’ll draft a solution together!

The workshop will be presented by Michiel Fokke. He is a TU Delft alumnus with a PhD in Physics and currently Manager Solutions Architecture at Amazon Web Services. As the former CTO of Eneco Toon he has extensive experience working with IoT and Cloud. He will be joined by three Solutions Architects specialized in creating IoT solutions.
