OSCAM - Open Space Contemporary Art Museum

Kids (6–14) get to design their own Freedom Flag with tie-dye, celebrating identity, freedom and creativity at OSCAM.

Keti Koti is the day on which we commemorate the abolition of slavery and celebrate the freedom of Suriname and the Netherlands Antilles, among others.On this special day, OSCAM is organizing a creative workshop: Design Your Freedom Flag. Children will work with fabric and tie-dye to create a flag that tells their unique story. Inspired by their identity, family, and culture, they will design a personal freedom flag that reflects what freedom means to them. Through color, patterns, and creativity, they will express who they are. Each flag becomes a powerful symbol of self-expression, belonging, diversity, and the freedom to be yourself.We’ll wrap up the day with a festive goodie bag full of snacks for all the children.The workshop will take place outdoors on July 1 at OSCAM, Bijlmerplein 97, and is for children aged 6–14 years old.Program:13:00 - 13:15 Walk-in at OSCAM 13:15 - 14:45 Start workshop: Design Your Freedom Flag (tie-dye) 14:45 - 15:00 Clean up and receive your goodie bag 15:00 Finish

_________________________________________________Keti Koti is de dag waarop we de afschaffing van de slavernij herdenken en de vrijheid van onder andere Suriname en de Nederlandse Antillen vieren.Op deze bijzondere dag organiseert OSCAM een creatieve workshop: Ontwerp je eigen Vrijheidsvlag. Kinderen gaan aan de slag met stof en tie-dye om een vlag te maken die hun unieke verhaal vertelt. Geïnspireerd door hun identiteit, familie en cultuur ontwerpen zij een persoonlijke vrijheidsvlag die laat zien wat vrijheid voor hen betekent. Met kleur, patronen en creativiteit geven zij uitdrukking aan wie zij zijn. Elke vlag wordt een krachtig symbool van zelfexpressie, verbondenheid, diversiteit en de vrijheid om jezelf te zijn.We sluiten de dag af met een feestelijke goodiebag vol lekkernijen voor alle kinderen.De workshop vindt plaats in de buitenlucht op 1 juli bij OSCAM, Bijlmerplein 97, en is bedoeld voor kinderen van 6 t/m 14 jaar.Programma:13:00 - 13:15 Inloop bij OSCAM 13:15 - 14:45 Start workshop: Ontwerp je Vrijheidsvlag (tie-dye) 14:45 - 15:00 Opruimen en ontvangst van je goodiebag 15:00 Einde workshop
