Event Details

On this spring day we visit one of the top tourist attractions in Holland: the splendid Keukenhof flower gardens. This park is only open for 8 weeks per year between mid March and mid May and receives a million visitors in that period! The Keukenhof is truly world-famous as tourists come from all over the globe to visit this unique presentation of flowers. This is picture postcard Holland at its very best! So don't forget your cameras!

Over 7 million bulbs from countless flower companies are planted in the fall. These are actually from dozens of exhibitors, showing their latest colours and shapes. You can see to what company the flowers belong while walking through the park. In the Keukenhof bulbs are planted in layers, so the wide variety of flowers bloom in different periods. You can see hyacinths, daffodils, orchids and many other beautiful flowers, not to forget the tulip.

Upon arrival we are welcomed by an official guide of the Keukenhof who will take us around the park. During 1,5 hours the professional guide explains the history of the park, what needs to be done to create such beautiful flower gardens and of course everything there is to learn about flowers.

The guided tour is included in the price. It will give you great introduction to this magnificent park. It is a private tour, so exclusively for Expat Club members. This makes our visit extra special and memorable! Afterwards we have time to explore and enjoy the park on our own, take countless pictures or just relax and enjoy the spectacular colours.

Since we are coming to the Keukenhof in the tulip season, we can see the endless colourful fields. However, there are be many other flowers on display as well, both outside and inside.

With over 32 hectares, the Keukenhof is slightly larger than the Cinquantennaire Park. It boasts countless flower beds, exposition centers, ponds, a labyrinth, hills, a windmill and other cute little gardens. The variety is so big that you require a map to navigate through it and not to get lost (click here or on the image to download it).

Don't forget your cameras to capture the amazing colours and shapes!  Flowers are one of the most beautiful things our planet has to offer, and the sheer abundance and variety of the Keukenhof will leave an indelible impression.

To make our visit extra special, Expat Club has arranged two private boats* that leave from behind the Keukenhof's windmill and will take us through the famous flower fields. This way we can learn more about the flower growing industry. It's a wonderful add-on to our Keukenhof day. A ticket should be reserved in advance and costs €10, including reservation costs. Please make sure to select this ticket on the cart page during the checkout process.

We will leave around 18h00, so we have plenty of time to visit all parts of the Keukenhof and explore the various exhibitions with smaller groups or individually.

We depart from Place Schuman at 08h30 - 09h00 with a very comfortable 4* luxury coach (on-board toilet, DVD/TV, AC, comfort seats, extra leg space). Travelling together is a great way to get to know other people, while you can enjoy the scenery and on-board entertainment. Complimentary snacks and drinks are included! Our return time in Brussels is foreseen at 21h00.

Some final remarks:

      • It goes without saying that the blooming status of the flowers depends to a large extent on the weather conditions, during the day and in the weeks/months before our visit.
      • In case the weather is really nice we may make a quick stop at the beach of Noordwijk for a drink or quick snack. In that case our return time may be up to one hour later.
      • Most of the above pictures' copyrights belong to the Keukenhof.
      • If the whisper boat doesn't fill up with guests from Expat Club, other visitors may join us.
