We started the tradition of KNIGHTS for RARE in 2023 to do something meaningful for the people who truly make a difference in patients’ lives every day. Each year, we select one unicorn, “hidden gem”, patient association in Europe, doing just that for people with rare diseases. Not as a job but as a mission and a legacy.
The 2025 RARE KNIGHT Award recognizes the impressive work of Rare Diseases Greece, a non-profit patient association that serves as a powerful voice of hope and strength for individuals living with rare diseases across the country.
With a mission to raise awareness, increase access to information and treatments, drive research, and protect the rights of patients and their families, Rare Diseases Greece works relentlessly to ensure that no one affected by a rare disease is left behind—whether in Greece, Europe, or beyond.
Bringing together 33 full members—comprising of associations, unions, and non-profit organizations—Rare Diseases Greece represents nearly 500,000 patients and their families nationwide. As the largest and most impactful organization advocating for the needs and rights of rare disease patients in Greece, it also plays a pivotal role in shaping European policy. By actively engaging with key National and EU bodies and initiatives, Rare Diseases Greece amplifies the voices of those affected by rare diseases across Europe, ensuring their needs are prioritized on the continental stage.

This year, we are proud to team up with the Rotary Club of Athens to make this event as successful as possible. The 2025 KNIGHTS for RARE fundraiser and walking dinner will take place on the 18th of October 2025 from 2000–2200 at the beautiful ΕΒΔΟΜΟΣ City Loft in Athens.
All proceeds and donations collected from the KNIGHTS for RARE 2025 event will go directly to Rare Diseases Greece.
